Play Streets

Play Streets refer to the temporary closure of streets, that for a specified time period (3-5 hours) create a safe, publicly accessible space for children, adolescents, and/or their families to engage in active play.

SUMMARY:

Play Streets refer to the temporary closure of streets, that for a specified time period (2-4 hours) create a safe, publicly accessible space for children, adolescents, and/or their families to engage in active play. Possible activities include jump rope, obstacle courses, pickle ball, basketball, water sports, and many more. The goal of Play Streets is to improve the health of participants while providing safe opportunities for physical activity.
