The USDA Nutrition Hub at Texas A&M is designed to improve food and nutrition security, reduce diet-related chronic diseases, and improve population health throughout Texas and the United States, through developing and enhancing transdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships, compiling and disseminating precision nutrition resources, and fostering education and training opportunities. To achieve the overall goal of reducing diet-related chronic diseases by improving food and nutrition security for all, the Nutrition Hub at Texas A&M has three distinct objectives:
- Develop and enhance partnerships to expand and translate the evidence base that will help advance nutrition and food security for all.
- Compile, organize, and disseminate science-based nutrition resources, messaging, and programs that are appropriately tailored to specific community and population needs with attention to contextual socioecological factors.
- Foster transdisciplinary education and training opportunities in community-centered nutrition research, food and nutrition security, and food systems to support workforce capacity building.
